Hello, I am trying to find male descendants of Obadiah FERGUSON and his brother, Rev. William G. Ferguson. These gentlemen were sons of Catherine GILMORE and William FERGUSON of Albemarle Co., VA. The Ferguson family first moved to Sumner Co., TN and then to Barren (later Allen) Co., KY. William died a little after 1810 in Barren Co. and Catherine then married Benjamin Bailey, a local Baptist minister, and lived to be about 97 years old. Three of their children moved to Crawford Co., MO: Elizabeth Ferguson MERRITT RICHEY, and sons, Obadiah and William G. Both of the sons had sons, and I'd love to find some male FERGUSON descendants to participate in the Y-chromosome DNA study taking place at Family Tree DNA, familytreedna.com. Female descendants cannot participate. William G. Ferguson had sons: T. J., Simeon W., Eugene A., and William Herman. Obadiah had sons William Henry, G. Bruce, and W. B. I think William Henry only had daughters, but Bruce had sons, Carl and Lee. If anyone has any knowledge of any of these folks, please contact me. I'll be happy to share what I have.
