Nancy: I tried to send this to you privately, but it came back. I hope this information helps. In the publication "Cemeteries of Crawford County, Missouri", by Helen Marie Wright, The I find the following listings on the Hinch family in the Cross Roads Cemetery located on Highway H in Liberty Township. The book indicates that the present site of the Cross Roads Cemetery was chosen by Jeremiah King. John R. Looney had homestead land and he donated two acres of land for the cemetery and church. The name "Cross Roads" was given to the church in memory of the old Cross Roads Church in South Carolina. They built the first church in the Spring of 1872. Bonnie Barton born May 1, 1878 died January 13, 1879 was the first person buried in Cross Roads Cemetery. HINCH: LUTHER Aug. 13, 1907-Apr. 14, 1974 - Luther was the son of John and Fannie Payne Hinch. He was born in Hinch Crawford County, Missouri. JESSIE E. Jan. 23, 1909-Feb. 21, 1981. FANNIE 1883-1942 - Fannie was the daughter of George Washington Payne. She was the wife of John Hinch. She was killed in a car wreck in Bourbon, Missouri. JOHN S. 1876-1946 - John was born in Washington County, Missouri. He married Fannie Payne. Their children were: Jewell killed in World War 2, Louisa and Luther. JEWELL WW2 Sep 4, 1921 - Oct. 8, 1944 - Jewell was the son of John and Fannie Payne Hinch. Born in Crawford County, Missouri. I also found the following Payne graves which I believe is Fannie's mother: PAYNE Sarah Louisa wife of G. W. Nov. 9, 1865- Oct. 29, 1899 - OBITUARY: Mrs. G. W. Payne nee Wright died Saturday at her home two miles east of Cross Roads Church. She left several small children. Her daughter Fannie is very sick. [I don't see listing there for G.W. Payne. The following person listed as being buried there at Cross Roads in unmarked grave: PAYNE: OBITUARY: "Aunt Polly" Payne died on pneumonia at the home of her son April 19, 1900 age 79 years. She is survived by two sons. I found another Jesse Hinch, Mo. Pfc WW1 Mar. 21, 1887 - Sept. 20, 1970. He's buried at Steelville City Cemetery. Hope this helps! I don't know who this was intended for but I am researching the Hinch family in Crawford and Washington Counties too. The Hinch descendents have started a web site to help connect all our relatives. www.theladonnaproject.com Thanks for the post. Janet ----- Original Message ----- From: "B.
