Hello, I thought I would share the obituary of Cledis R. Ferguson with you. I received it today from the Houston, TX Public Library. I was hoping it would have some information in it that would help me find some of his kids, but as you can see, it has nothing. I already had these names. I was hoping to find a male to participate in the Ferguson DNA study. Here is the obituary: Houston Chronicle, Section 2, Page 7, April 1, 1983: Cledis R. Ferguson, 59 of Porter, passed away Wednesday. Survivors: Wife, Carol Ferguson; daughters, Kathleen and Jacqueline Ferguson; sons, Daniel and Michael Donoven, Richard, Gene, and James Ferguson; mother, Mrs. Nellie Ferguson; two sisters; four brothers; numerous other surviving relatives. Services 11:00 Saturday, Brookside Chapel. Interment Brookside Memorial Park. Brookside Funeral Home, Eastex Freeway at Lauder Road, 449-6511 I have put all of these names in Switchboard.com and also Yahoo People Find, and I have no idea which ones they might be. Cledis was the son of Nellie Cook and Eugene Ferguson of Crawford Co., MO, and a descendant of my 4th g-grandparents, Catherine GILMORE and William FERGUSON, who were originally from Albemarle Co., VA Catherine and William married there 28 Oct 1793. They seem like such nice people, but I can't find any other soul trying to find them. You would think if Cledis had "numerous other surviving relatives" that at least one of them would care about family history. I get so depressed because I can't find these folks, or at least anyone who gives a hoot about them. I guess it's time to put them away for several years and then try again. I hope the rest of you are more successful than I am at finding Fergusons. Best wishes, Sharon Clark Fort Worth, TX [email protected]
