Can anyone tell me why we cannot search for "Crawford" county in the Missouri Birth & Death Records (online searchable) Database at: http://www.sos.mo.gov/archives/resources/birthdeath/default.asp What alternatives are there? Is it correct that there were no county requirement to record births, deaths, and marriages before the 1900's? Could people be married without a license at home by a preacher? Could people be born and die with a county certification? Thanks, JV
