Melodee, Based on the age of William J. Dobbs in 1880 census (age 6), the only William Dobbs I came up with on 1900 census that's close to this age is the following, but birthplace is not given as Kentucky. Name: Wm Dobbs Age in 1910: 36 Estimated Birth Year: 1873 Birthplace: Illinois Home in 1910: 17-WD ST LOUIS, ST LOUIS, Missouri Race: White Gender: Male Series: T624 Roll: 819 Part: 2 Page: 25A Year: 1910 If you think that's him, let me know and I'll send you a copy of actual census sheet. There's one William J. Dobbs listed in 1910 and he lives in Cook County, IL, but his estimated birth date is 1855. Other than the above I can't seem to locate a William Dobbs who fits profile of being born about 1874 and born in Kentucky. I only found one listing in Crawford County Cemetery book and that was for a William T. Dobb, son of W. T. & M. L. died Nov. 14, 1880 age 25 years. He's buried in Pleasant Point Cemetery, Crawford County. By the way, I found another history of Keysville here which contains more names and detail than the one I previously sent you: http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/ifetch2?/u1/data/mo+index+303163941842+F Bettye > hello list- i am wondeing if any one has access to a county historybook > and > would check if William J Dobbs, son of Rev George Washington Dobbs. he > was > born in Kentucky ( 1874) was :ast seen in the 1880 census, Neoga, > Cumberland IL. > i am hoping to :ocate him in the 1900. 1910. 1920 and possibly in the > 1930. > thanks for any help. Billy, If he had a Will which was probated, it would be on file with the Probate Court at the Crawford County Courthouse in Steelville, Missouri. The 1928 death certificate would need to be ordered from Jefferson City, Missouri. You can get a death certificate from the Health Department in Crawford County, but it wouldn't contain as many details as the one from Jefferson City contains. Here are some links which may help you. http://www.dhss.state.mo.us/BirthAndDeathRecords/BirthAndDeathRecords.html http://www.rootsweb.com/~mocrawfo/courth.htm Bettye > Hi all from Australia am researching my G Grandfather Furm A Denton b >> 1870 d Dec 10 1928 he lived in Cuba Crawford Co do I obtain a >> copy of his will from the court house in Steelville and where can I get >> a copy of his death cert Steelville or Jefferson City thanks Billy >> Jr >> >> >> ==== MOCRAWFO Mailing List ==== >> Visit the Crawford County, MOGenWeb >> http://www.rootsweb.com/~mocrawfo/ >> > >
Hello list- seeking information concerning these Cambells apparently these were ministers, probably related. W T Cambell, was living in 1886( Keysville) also J. P Cambell and Elder J P Campbell. the W.T Campbell that was living in keysvillr in 1886, was the son of Sarah ( Cambell) Dobbs, I believe the Campbells had originated probably in Allen county Kentucky and some how migrated( with the Dobbs) to Crawford county, thats where a Crawford county( keysville) history book, might come in, all I know is that the W T and J.P Cambell s were ministers, any research help, will be appreciated. Thanks!!!! Melodee Slaney [email protected]
hello list- i am seeking information on Rev W T Campbell that was the son of Sarah Jane Campbell, that I believe was the wife of Rev George Washington Dobbs. W.T Cambell was alive in 1886, W.T married Telitha C Dobbs and Thomas E Key and J P Campbell married Mary A Dobbs and William H Key. My question who were these Cambells, did they originated and migrated with the Dobbs, to Crawford county?? Could someone check the 1880 for J P, perhaps W T may be a son?? what are these initials stand for?? if any one has a county cementery book or another resource, perhaps you would kindly check?? Thanks for your time. Melodee [email protected]

Joe Miller transcribed the Lick Creek Cemetery - Crawford Co. East of Cuba on PP, abt 3 mi. just before Lick Creek Road. Sec 34 T.39N-R.4W in 1988. I was out there today looking for my great, great grandmother and great, great uncle: Baker, John Sr.; d. 3/1898, home, Leasburg; and Miranda Page w/o Wiley; d. 11/28/1880, Lick Creek; sister to John Baker. This is a question for Joe Miller, or anyone else who may know. Was there ever a record of the cemetery plots name by name? There are many stones in the ground with no headstone or marker. I found some of my ancestral family members listed in the "Ozark Hills Friends and Neighbors 1829-2000, Volume Four," that do no longer have stones due to the length of time they have been buried there or vandalism. Any suggestions on how to go about finding their burial sites? Joe: do you still have your transcription notes from 1988? Specifically, I am looking for the burial sites of : Baker, John Sr.; d. 3/1898, home, Leasburg; and Miranda Page w/o Wiley; d. 11/28/1880, Lick Creek; sister to John Baker. Thanks. Janette
