I received extremely upsetting news this evening. Harold David VALLE husband of Mary Lavina HENDRIX and the father of one of the nicest people I have ever encountered in all my years doing genealogy, Neva VALLE died this morning. Given how active she is I imagine several of you must have encountered Neva over the years while doing research. Harold David VALLE was the s/o Larkin Allen VALLE and Bertha Ellen JOHNSON. I do not have enough information for a proper obit, but Harold and Mary married 14 August 1941. At the time of Harold's passing they were residents of DeSoto, Missouri. Harold died from injuries sustained in an automobile accident 11 February 2007. The accident occurred a couple days prior to his passing. The accident occurred somewhere within the Kansas City metropolitan vicinity. His wife Mary Lavina HENDRIX VALLE, a son, 2 adopted daughters, and my friend Harold & Mary's daughter Neva are among his survivors. The list is incomplete as I know there are some grandchildren as well I know Mary Lavina HENDRIX has a number of Crawford Co. families in her line: HOPKINS, HARMAN, BRICKEY, MALLOW So keep Neva in your thoughts. Health issues have prevented her from returning to be with the rest of the family during her father's final hospitalization and the impending funeral, and she is very stunned and bewildered at the moment. Besides the other good responses, there is also a Wishon Cemetery in Phelps county between St. James and Rolla: http://www.topozone.com/map.asp?lat=37.97667&lon=-91.67722&datum=NAD27&s=50&size=l Mike On Fri, 26 Jan 2007, [email protected] wrote: >Date: Fri, 26 Jan 2007 11:03:31 -0800 (PST) >From: Gloria Cingano <[email protected]> >Subject: [MOCRAWFO] Cemetery query >To: CrawfordCo <[email protected]> > >Listers, > > Has anyone on the list every heard of a "Wisham" cemetery or something similar in >Crawford county? Is anyone researching the following family??? I am interested in finding out if the Edna M.J. Harris, age 17, is the same Edna Marie Harris who married Otto Ernest Faulkner about 1912-15. I have a death certificate for an infant born to them in 1916, so I know they were married before then. In the 1920 census, they were in Oklahoma and Edna Marie Faulkner died in 1927. Don't know if anyone is interested, but I ran across this link that has different newspapers across the USA. Just click on the state you want and it will bring up the newspaper. Unfortunately the Independent Journal isn't on the list so we can see any obits, but then [email protected] does a fabulous job of posting. It does have the Daily Journal which [email protected] post to St. Francois Co.mailing list, Farmington Press in St. Francois Co., St. Louis Post Dispatch, and several others. It lists the papers that are printed daily, weekly and less frequent, and broadcast news sources. Some of the papers may have archives. I know the Post does, but not for a long period of time. http://www.kidon.com/media-link/us.php Sharon (Hartzell) Smith Jefferson Co., MO.

Hi Terry, Then we are in the same boat. But I do know he was from the Sussex/Surrey area of VA. I have established his wife's family. But HENRY seems to have come from nowhere. I'll let everybody know if I come up with anything. Linda
If this is the same one, Henry Brown is my wife's gr-gr-gr-grandfather and I haven't been able to trace it back any farther than Henry. Hi all, I'm a descendant of HARTWELL PARSONS, b. abt 1792 in Louisa Co. VA. Died abt. 1872 in Crawford Co. MO. I have researched this family for years. I have learned that HARTWELL'S father was SAMUEL PARSONS of Louisa Co. VA. But I have not been able to establish the parents of SAMUEL PARSONS. I am hoping to find others who might be researching this family and know who SAMUEL'S parents are. I have a lot of info on this family and would love to share. Any help appreciated. Linda
I'm sorry I searched all over and could not find him. I went to the courthouse by day and cemeteries and libraries by night. I had a couple hours free Thursday evening and went out to see what I could do. I was windy abd starting to rain. I was already sporting a cold. -- Joe L.
