Author: judyflash Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.missouri.counties.crawford/276.332.3.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: One of Ken Fieblemans books, it says before the body of the book, on top mentions a Jacob Chandler, something about mail. I found this at the Salem Court house, it was either under McMurtrey, I beleive his name was John or could of been under Chandler. What it was, I am from Willis Hiram Chandler line, Willis is son of John Chandler b. abt. 1803-5, his wife, Samantha Cordelia McMurtrey, her father passed away, and this Jacob did all the leg work, as my Willis Chandler by then lives in Oregon. Jacob Chandler had written his name on this ledger, full page on one side. My cousin Wilma Gamblin, I think you probably heard of her, looked up land records. This Jacob did have land, I called her and said she thought her name might of been Elizabeth, but on a document said deceased for her. But Wilma remembers also something about a dowry for her. This Jacob Chandler is not in any cencus either. Why my Willis had this Jacob do the leg work and not any of his relatives back the! re. But I still think some of the Hickman Co., TN., Chandlers were there too. Maybe this Jacob was a lawyer or my Willis thought he had more smarts, who knows. Shoal Creek Cemetery is also called another name. All I can remember back 1991, park car, go into cemetery on right side of church, about 20-30 feet in was a beech, Charles Chandlers wife and my mother sat there. I did you go to where the other Chandlers were buried. If you went in right side of church, walk in about 20-30 feet turn right, was along a fence line, or bush line. Wilma told me they changed that place around. But on the stones I beleive one says TC Chandler and the other JT Chandler, and says wife, I beleive it could of been Ann Smith, for each one of these 2 men. 2 -4 ft high stones, light tented blue or green. I don't have the dates of these. Maybe these stones were replacements and they were just moved from another Cemetery. But still don't know who they are. Are you from the Chandler line, Get in touch with Wilma Gamblin, her and I have all the same information, which is alot. Judy [email protected] Would love to know who these 3 people are. Also, is the Shoal Creek Cemetery you are talking about Centerpost Cemetery on Shoal Creek, or could it be Skaggs Cemetery/Little Shoal Creek Cemetery? I live close both of them and might drive out to see what tombstones you are talking about then I could search my records on what you are asking. One is a Jacob Chandler, which took care of Willis Hiram Chandler and wife, her father died, McMurtrey, and a Jacob Chandler is listed down 1 page in ledger in Salem. Chandler, appears to have married same gal, a Smith, tombstones have a light blue or green tint to them. Does anybody know who these are and what the initials stand for?
