    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: TAYLOR/SPRADLEY/LINDSEY/BROWN Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/iMB.2ACI/980.2 Message Board Post: I am a fellow TAYLOR family researcher and offer the following information on my TAYLOR family: Hubbard Taylor is my ancestor. The first census I have found him on was 1840, Cole County Missouri, Monteonce Township (is there really a Monteonce? or did the folks at Ancestry.com transcribe it incorrectly?). Hubbard was born about 1813 in Kentucky and died in 1865 in Linn Creek Missouri (Camden County) Hubbard's wife's name is Sidney (Spradley) Taylor. Sidney was born about 1814 in Alabama (Note: some census records have her birth place as Tennessee). Hubbard married Sidney Spradley in 1834 in Madison County Alabama. About 6 weeks after their marriage they relocated to Illinois then to Missouri. Hubbard & Sidney had six children: William M. born about 1836 - died 1890; Elizabeth born about 1838 - death date unknown (Note: I descend from Elizabeth) ; John H. born 1841 - died 1933; Josephine born about 1842 - death date unknown; Sidney born about 1845 - death date unknown; and Missouri born about 1851 - death date unknown. William M. married Catherine Bauer; Elizabeth married David Lindsey (Cole County MO); John H. married (1) Jane Chenoweth (2) Margaret Ann McGlothlin; Josephine married John Oder; Sidney married (1) Fisher Richardson (2) William H. Conway; Missouri married ? Owen or Owens. From Hubbard Taylor's Civil War pension file we know that he had 3 brothers and 6 sisters. Eben Taylor is the only brother's name that we have documented. Eben Taylor was born 1811 in Madison County Kentucky and died in Camden County Missouri in 1894. Eben proably relocated to Missouri after his first wife's (Mary Elizabeth Collingsworth) death in 1875. Their children are: Henrietta born about 1836 in Illinois; Malinda born about 1838 in Illinois; Welta (Wealthy?) born about 1839 in Illinois; Thomas born about 1842 in Illinois, James born about 1847 in Illinois, and Eben Bess born about 1850. Eben's second marriage was to Elizabeth Jane Burney in Centertown Missouri (Cole County). Their son Francis G. Taylor was born in 1881 in Cole County Missouri. Most of Eben's family remained in Illinois with the exception of his youngest son, Eben Bess Taylor who also relocated to Cole County Missouri and married Martha Elizabeth Prine there. Some of their children are as follows: Ida May born 1880, Mary born 1883, Charles born 1886, Sula born 1888, and Bertha born 1894. There may be more. My fellow TAYLOR researchers also believe that Thomas was the father of Hubbard and Eben, but have no concrete information to be 100% certain. We know that Eben Taylor was buried in Dority Cemetery. I have posted to the Cole County Missouri board before, and you might want to look for my posts on Hubbard and Sidney (Spradley) Taylor. I hope this information helps other TAYLOR researchers. 3. I'm delighted to get the information on Eben Taylor. I'm working on a book at the Cole County Historical Society, listing Cole Countians who were veterans of the Civil War. I have a long list of names and am adding brief biographical sketches where possible. Eben Taylor is among the people on the list. I would appreciate any additional information (or pictures?)you might provide. You can send it to me at beatku@mchsi.com . I also have a Lawrence Taylor who enlisted in the Home Guard. Is he yours? We didn't have Hubbard listed. Can you tell me more about him? Thanks, Nancy T. ----- Original Message ----- From: <ssylva@grapevine.net> To: <MOCOLE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, April 03, 2006 5:08 PM Subject: [MOCOLE] Re: Murrays and Taylors in early Cole CO, MO > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: TAYLOR/SPRADLEY/LINDSEY/BROWN > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/iMB.2ACI/980.2 > > Message Board Post: > > I am a fellow TAYLOR family researcher and offer the following information > on my TAYLOR family: > > Hubbard Taylor is my ancestor.
