Greetings This indenture made and done the 5th day of December in the year of our Lord 1809 between Eli Langford of the County of Greenville & State of South Carolina of the one part and John P. Corn and Adam Corn of the County of Bumcombe and the State of North Carolina of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Eli Langford for and in consideration of $1000 to him in hand paid by the said John P. Corn and Adam Corn the receipt whereof the said Eli Langford doth hereby acknowledge hath given, granted, bargained, aliened & confirmed and by these presents doth give grant bargain and sell alien and confirm unto the said John P. Corn and Adam Corn there heirs and assigns forever. All that track and parcel of land and situate lying and being in the county of Bumcombe formally Rutherford Beginning at 2 white oaks near the Saluda Path Thence S26E 360 poles to a stake (5940’) Thence S64W 180 poles to a stake (2970’) Thence N26W 360 poles to a stake (5940’) Thence back to the beginning (2970’) Bounded on the South by the Mountains containing 400 acres be the same more or less and also the woods, waters and water ------ and all and every --- appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining and the revision and revisions & remaining reminder and reminders, rents, issues and profits of the aforesaid lands and premises and every other part therof and all the estate rights, titles, interests, claims property and demand whatsoever of the said Eli Langford of ----- to the land and premises hereby granted to have and to hold the aforesaid land & premises with the appurtenances --- to the said John P. Corn and Adam Corn & their heirs and assigns to the proper use & behoof of the said John P. Corn and Adam Corn them & their heirs & assigns forever and the said Eli Langford and his heirs and assigns and against the --- and claims of all and every other person or persons whatsoever to the said John P.
