I recently ordered a birth certificate for my 2nd cousin, Wanda Lee Bateman who was born on September 15, 1927 in Missouri (Jackson County I think). My prepayment was returned and I was advised that Missouri will furnish birth certificates only to members of the person's immediate family. I don't know any of the immediate family or whether any are still living. Does anyone know how I might obtain a copy of this birth certificate, or failing that, how I might find the maiden name of Wanda's mother - Irene ________ (wife of Wallace Bateman)?
