Because the history of Cole and Miller counties is so closely intertwined, we wanted you to know about the new web site currently under construction and sponsored by the Miller County Historical Society. It is still in the elementary stages of development with lots of good stuff to come. We hope to capture the full range of historical interest in Miller County with heavy emphasis on the people. We are presently posting information and will be adding photographs along the way. We have tried to gather together the writings of local historians with heavy reliance on Peggy Hake's work. We are currently assembling her biographies which will appear under "Publications". Our "Library" and "Communities" tabs are nearly complete as well as some tabs under "Cultural Resources". We celebrated the ground-breaking for our museum addition last Sunday and you will find particulars under "About Us", "Here We GROW". We've been reluctant to announce our presence because we don't want you to stop in once and not come back. There is still a lot of content in the "assembly" stage and we will be posting it as quickly as possible. These are exciting times for those of us who are working to preserve the history of Miller County, and we want to share our enthusiasm and story with all of you.
