The State Journal, Jefferson City, Missouri Friday, April 18, 1879 Tuesday morning, April 15th, of pneumonia, Mr. Albert Walther, in the 57th years of his age: Mr. Walther was one of the most highly respected citizens of the county, and the news of his death will cast a shadow of gloom and regret over the heart of everyone who knew him. It seems incredible that death has claimed him, so hale, hearty and vigorous a man was he. He was a kind and good man, and was honored by all his neighbors as a man above reproach and without a stain upon his character. He is the elder, we believe of the honored family of Walther brothers, of whom Judge Walther, of the county court is a member. His funeral will take place at 3 o'clock this afternoon from his late residence near the railroad bridge, across the Moreau.
