Enoch H. Enloe was 9th child of Enoch and Frances (Fannie) Green Carpenter Enloe who were married in Barren Co., KY 6 Apr 1814. Frances G. was dau of Samuel and Catherine eaker Carpenter of Lincoln, Rutherford counties, NC and Barren Co, KY. Deceased had been in failing health for the past year or so but was not confined to his room until recently. Uncle Enoc, as he was familiarly known, was born in Moniteau County in 1831, and had he lived until his next birthday would have been 77 years of age. He owned and operated a 320 acre farm until about three years ago when he retired from farm life and moved to Russellville where he spent the rest of his days. He married Miss Margaret Leslie about fifty years ago to which union two sons were born; John C. who died when seventeen years of age, and Wade F. who is now cashier of the Russellville Exchange Bank. He had been a consistent member of the Baptist Church for the past sixty years joining the Rock Enon Church at the time but later removing his membership to the Cole Spring Baptist Church near this place. Deceased was a straight-forward, honest upright man, always standing for the upbuilding of right principals and never in the way of progress. He always gave liberally to a good cause and in his younger days was foremost in all church work. He was a man that had worked hard during his life, managed well, and through his good judgment and business qualities had accumulated considerable wealth. Besides his wife and son, deceased leaves one brother and one sister to mourn his death. They are: Samuel Enloe, of near Enon, aged 87, and Mrs. Caroline Simpson, wife of B.G. Simpson, three miles west of Russellville. Funeral services were conducted from the family residence at 10:30 o'clock Friday morning by T. R.
