    1. [MOCOLE] Jackson H. S. Peter FOWLER in and around Cole Co., MO
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: FOWLER, GOELLNER, HEATH, SCHROEDER Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/iMB.2ACI/1032 Message Board Post: I am searching for any descendents of Jackson H. S. Peter Fowler born @1815 KY (County Unknown, suspect Madison Co., KY). I do not know the name of Jackson H. S. Peter Fowler's first wife or when or where they married. I know he had at LEAST 2 sons by her but probably MORE and I would suspect one was named William (first or middle name). I know the names of two sons of his first wife: 1. Thomas Fowler b. @1847 prob. Montgomery Co., MO. Did he get into the Civil War? Did he survive and marry? 2. Wash aka George Washington Fowler b.@1849 I think he married Aug 26, 1884, in Osage Co., MO Martha Owens. We know he married Josephine Goellner, dau of Joannes Franciscus Antonius Goellner & Maria Catharina Gausmann May 12, 1855 Cole Co., MO. He was baptised at the St Joseph's Catholic Church in Osage Co., MO on January 12, 1855, was it in order to marry Josphina? Was that when he took the name Peter or was it one of his middle names before the Baptism? We know Jackson & Josephina lost two babies who were buried at St. Joseph's Cemetery. They had at least two who lived: 1. John Theodore Fowler b . May 30, 1863 Jackson Twp, Osage Co., MO (did he marry Pearl Smith April 30, 1917, Osage Co., MO? where did they go?) 2. Charles George Fowler b. May 11, 1866. Jackson H. S. Peter Fowler was a boatman as per the only Census I ever saw him on, the 1860 Osage Co., MO Census and he and William Crede went into partnership on builing a steamboat in 1860 and for a number of years they engaged in steamboating on the Osage River. Gov. Jackson ordered the burning of the bridge across Osage River and the burning of the steam boat to keep General Lyon out of Jefferson during the Civil War. It is said that William Crede entered the 5th MO Rgt after that, did Jackson also do that or did he stay out of the war because of his large family and age? Whatever he did and wherever he was, he died June 24, 1866 and is buried at St. Joseph's Church Cemetery. His widow, Josephine Goelner Fowler, then married Francis aka Franciscum/Frank Schroeder and they had a daughter, Mary (maybe more) and appear on the 1870 Cole Co., MO Census: 1870 Census Cole Co.,MO Liberty Twp page 177b. Fam# 63: Frank Schroeder 34 FArmer MO wife Vina 40 MO. MO: Henry 14, John 5, Charles 3, Mary 2. I believe Francis Schroeder was a distant Cousin of William Crede on William's Mothers side as they were all from Germany and Wm. Crede had a Grandmother Schroeder if I am not mistaken. But what became of the descendents of Jackson H. S. Peter Fowler? I believe he is brother to my John C. Fowler b. @1818 KY, married Olivia Heath Jan 15, 1843 Gasconade Co., MO. Robert Fowler had signed a deed for some land over to John C. Fowler and Jackson H. Fowler in 1843 in Osage Co., MO. I am not certain who this Robert Fowler was and how/if he was related. Any help on this family would be appreciated. Charlene ccs1101@aol.com
