I am looking for my Dawson family that lived in Missouri. I have a picture of a George Dawson that was taken in Bonne Terre & Flat River, Missouri. Alice Dawson taken in St. Louis Dick Dawson no place taken, but with a small girl. Adeline Susan Dawson Williams was my Great Grandmother. She lived in Willow Springs, Howell Co., Missouri with my Great Grandfather, Joseph (Josiah) Hardin Williams. Adeline (Susan) Dawson Williams parents were Enoch Asbury Dawson and Jane Morris Dawson. Enoch's father was William Dawson, wife Mary Bailey and William's father was George Dawson. I have a lot of tintype pictures that were left to my father by his Aunt Lena Williams, daughter of Susan Dawson Williams. I recently found a family tree that had a William Dawson as a Baptist Minister in Dawson Springs, Kentucky. Dawson Springs was named after him. Hope to find some connections. Tina Williams Swyers

William David had twelve other children besides my GGM Nancy so there should be quite a few descendants out there who could qualify on his Revolutionary service for DAR/SAR membership. I'm happy to share the evidence.

She is my great, great, Aunt, sister of Gerhardt Frederick Meckfessel from Dissen who settled in California. She had a son Lewis "Louie" Grothoff born September 1864, married to Della, who had a son, Curtis E. Grothoff, born 1903. Is this your Curtis Grothoff? I have so many questions about Aunt Mary! I would love to know more of her Grothoff history! Her brother, Henry Meckfessel also lived in Illinois. I think their father, also a Henry, immigrated and settled in Illinois after his wife died. I would appreciate any information on this family! Thanks! Jeanne Ann Del Pero

Yes I have corresponded with Jean several times over the last few years. She has been very helpful. A matter of fact, we cooresponded back and forth about Ben and Katie a couple of days ago. Unfortunately she did not have much information to provide about Katie DeLong. Jean did offer me some tips that helped identify the family in Taos. Thanks again. Bob

I spoke to her about a year ago about the Sannings of Taos. She was good enough to share a couple of pictures along with information for us to use in our Civil War Room at the Cole County Historical Society about Sanning/Berendzen families. I believe she has subsequently released a book which would probably hold much of the information you are seeking. If you're interested, we may have her snail mail address at the Historical Society; I'd be glad to look it up and forward it to you. Nancy T.
