She died in 2002 and my sister and me wanted to find her family just to see what our ancestry was. The name on her adoption papers was Nellie Abeln born March 28th 1912. Her adoptive parents named her Daisy Marie Perry. The story handed down was that Mrs. Abeln ,who was pregnant with Nellie, husband was killed in a train wreck ( around 1911 or 1912) and as she had six other children she had to give her baby girl up for adoption. These are the only clued that we have. If this story rings a bell with anyone please let me know.

Cole County Democrat August 4, 1905 page 1 Mrs. Julia Walther Dead. Mrs. Julia Walther, died Monday morning at her home near Ewing Station, aged 78 years. Her death was due to a complication of maladies incident to old age. She was a resident of this county nearly all her life, having come here from Austria in 1842. She was the mother of John and Frank Walther. The funeral will take place at Schubert’s at 2 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, and the interment will follow in the Lutheran cemetery at that place.
