Surnames: Clark Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/iMB.2ACI/1017 Message Board Post: An Isaac Clark is found in the 1830 census of Cole Co., MO. I believe he is my g-g-grandfather. He was married to a Mary LNU and they had nine children. In the 1830 census, Isaac is of 20 under 30; one female of 20 under 30; one male of 5 under 10 and two females under 5. In 1840, they are found in Pulaski Co., MO, and Isaac is 30 under 40, one female 30 under 40, one male 10 under 15, one male 5 under 10, one female 10 under154, one female 5 under 10, and two females under 5. The Clarks leave Missouri in about 1843 and move to Carroll County, AR, apparently for health reasons. According to the US Federal Census Mortality Schedule, both Isaac and his wife Mary die from Consumption in 1850. In the 1850 Carroll County Census taken in October, the family now consists of the nine surviving children: John 25, Sarah 23, Manda J. 20, George W. 18, Mary Ann 15, Cyntha Ann 12, Andrew J. 8, James M. 5, and Benjamin F. 3. (James M. is my g-grandfather). Several of these children may have died of consumption, for they are not found in later census records. In 1860, John and Cyntha, Andrew J. and Benjamin W . are living in Camden Co. MO. James M. is in Christian County living the the Lida (Lydia) Nicks (NIx) family. If anyone has any information regarding this family, I would appreciate knowing. J. B. Clark

Surnames: Herrick Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/iMB.2ACI/1014.1.1 Message Board Post: Hi Joann. Ebenezer and his brother, Daniel Herrick have created quite a mess for me. I can find the same children on the census schedules, but the names of the parents change. The children on the census you found are of the family. I am getting this information from Daniel's Civil War pension file. Apparently, Anne had a terrible reputation. She reported Daniel dead, when she knew he was not. She married Daniel 4/22/1851 in Ashtabula Co., OH. At some point she left Daniel and passed as Ebenezer's wife. I am fairly certain that Almond is Daniel's son. The papers mention Daniel had a son, John Henry Herrick, who came to reside in Louisville, KY. I have found John Henry in the census schedules as an adult, but not as a child. John was born abt 1862 in MO. The paternity of the other children is questionable.

I thought he might have been in the Civil War, but don't find him there. Which brother had the wife Anne? Had he died? Where did you get the dates for Ebenezer's possible death? Joann Nichols

Surnames: Herrick Classification: Lookup Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/iMB.2ACI/1014 Message Board Post: I am hoping someone can do a look-up for me in the Cole Co cemetery books. I would like to find the burial location for Ebenezer Herrick. He was born circa 1835 in Saratoga Co., NY. I have conflicting sources regarding the date of his death. One says he died 1874-1875 and the other says 1864-1865. I think 1874-1875 is more likely. Both sources agree that he died and was buried in the county near Jefferson City. He lived with his brother's wife, Anne. Her maiden name was Anne Trumbull. She may be buried with or next to him. She died in the late 1890's.
