He died on 20 Aug. 1959 from what I understand. I can't verify my source for the date at this time, I wonder which year is correct? Herr Talken also appears in my database, b 9-13-1865, d 1959 in Osage Bend, Cole County, Missouri. My source is secondary, not a primary record. I do not see him in the St. Margaret of Antioch Catholic Cemetery records I have from there, but these records are secondary also. Married Theresa Anna M. Schneiders 9-21-1897. I do not have any of his ancestors or descendents, he enters my data through his spouse. Bill: Where do you live? I would like to refer you to the Book "The Shoe Cobbler's Kin, Volume II, 1985" A genealogy of The Peter Eaker. Sr. Family of Lincoln Co., NC. He was the grandfather of Catherine Eaker Carpenter, Wife of Samuel, who left Rutherford Co., NC 1800 and moved to Barren Co. Ky where Samuel died. Catherine died in Allen Co. probably in the household of her only son, Samuel Eaker Carpenter. Samuel Eaker Carpenter m. Sarah Gray Downing, the sister of your Benjamin, Jr. There is a Downing Sketch in this book also that traces the Downings from Frederick Co., MD Census. Benjamin Sr. was killed by gunpowder on Sept 5, 1803. He had married Sarah Gray in MD. Catherine and Samuel had daughter Barbara m. Peter Shytle in NC and they are the progenetors of the Shykle/Shikle family in Cole Co. although Barbara and Peter both died in Allen Co.KY.; daughter Elizabeth m. Lanmon Short and lived in Cole Co.; daughter Frances Green Carpenter m. Enoch Enloe and lived in Cole Co. These families intermarried with many surnames in Cole and Moniteau Co. MO and are featured in these books. They can be found in most major libraries in MO and across the US. For more about these and other books from the Lincoln Co., NC area go to: http://www.hartshorn.us/Bookpage.htm My good deed for the day!
