A memory block I guess. I don't have any Rowland, Kerns, and/or Penningtons in my family tree. However, it could have been the "Clinton County" that peaked my interest. My Mother [Julia I. Bales] was born in Polo, MO. Her Mother [Nevada Etta Walker Bales] was born in Lathrop, MO. Her Mother[Melinda Jane Gilbo Walker] was born to Jon Paul Gilbo and Mary A. Sanderson there in that area. It is the later that I am interested in finding. Melinda J. Gilbo Walker and her husband Robert Martin Walker. The four children were given to relatives and or friends to raise when Melinda and Robert were killed. The story is they were killed in one of the first automobile accidents. It would have had to of been a steam automobile for they were killed before 1900. Since the 1890 census was burned in Washington, D.C. I have know way of knowing if they were a live then. I know their last child was born 1886 [Aaron M. Walker]. He was living with the Wm. N. Griffings family in the 1900 census. Mrs. Martha C. Gillbo Griffings is a older sister of Melinda. Does any of this sound familar? Ha! Ha! I got long winded this morning. One of my Great Aunts lived with a Parson's family in 1900 census. I can't remember which right now either Effie and/or Sylvia Rettie Walker. My Great Grandparents were married by a Parson in 1880 in Clinton Co., MO. Let me check and I will get back with you. I believe this lady, Artemecie, 1848--1932, is buried in Antioch Cemetery in Clinton Co. Missouri. She is buried next to her husband, James T. Parsons, 1839--1884. John D. Parsons, there son, 8/26/1871--5/12/1899. Also Dennis Parsons 2/15/1803--6/3/1871, Father. Mary Parsons 4/16/1807--11/15/1887, Mother. I hope this helps, not sure if this the right lady. **************Ideas to please picky eaters. Watch video on AOL Living. I have a copy of an indenture dated July 13, 1849, between Collett Haines, his wife, Mary Haines and a board of trustees for a parcel of land for the sum of Forty Dollars at the present site of Antioch Cemetery. It is a group that have broken from the Methodist Episcopal Church. The trustees are Alfred Whitsitt, Daniel Albright, William Holt, and Isaac Cook. I Have history written many years later stating Daniel Albright gave land for burying for the early settlers. Kisziah Whitsitt was buried 13 July 1843, before the 1849 date, Albright may be the correct donor. This Collett Haines is the person Haynesville is names for. This settlement is about 1 1/2 miles north of Antioch Cem. Oakland Cemetery is all that is left of Haynesville. I hope this helps. **************Ideas to please picky eaters.
