Here is a list of all the Clinton County death certificates in the data base (I hope it is complete, but not sure). Do any of the other names look familiar. http://sos.mo.gov/archives/resources/deathcertificates/results.asp?type=advance&tLName=wright&radSearch=Exact&tFName=&radFNSearch=Exact&sCounty=Clinton&tYear=&sMonth=all I am also including DCs from Buchanan County because lots of Clinton county families went to St Joseph to have their babies. http://sos.mo.gov/archives/resources/deathcertificates/results.asp?type=advance&tLName=wright&radSearch=Exact&tFName=&radFNSearch=Exact&sCounty=Buchanan&tYear=&sMonth=all If her parents are deceased, do you know where they are buried? And if deceased, you might also search findagrave listings in Clinton County for the parents. There are a few who are in the right age range to be having a child in 1952. Good luck in your search. I have tried everywhere to find Robert Martin Walker and his wife Melinda Jane Gilbow Walker. No death certificates on either. The story that has been told down through the years is as follows: Robert and Melinda were killed together in an automobile accident. The accident would have been before the gas automobiles. They left their small children with relatives and friends. I found the children in the 1900 census living with relatives and friends [as logers]. Robert and Melind no where to be found. The last child was born in 1886. The 1890 census buried in Washington D.C. before they could decide on where to store it. If I could find any voters, church, town records around 1890. I might find them. It seems as if their families didn't pass any more information down through the years or at least I can't find any family members that know. The oldest child, Effie Walker born 1881 has vanished off the earth too. If anyone has any other place that I might look and/or information that would help. Please send it to this website and/or donnie_mcclendon2000@yahoo.com . Thank you Donnie Faye PS Susan, I have quit a lot. I would be glad to forward it to you. Let me know. I can say this isnt taken at Gower, MO. the spelling that i can see isnt even close it. It may however be Gilford, Mo. or Gilliam. Many years ago most people didnt put in a letter if u didnt hear it so it possibley could be Giliam or Gilam. Could also be one of the towns that used to, that don't exist any longer. Author: debeddy Surnames: LONGSTRETH, DODDS Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.missouri.counties.clinton/1676.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Thank you very much for providing the cemetery information for Mary (Dodds) Longstreth. I appreciate it greatly. After my previous post, I realized that Mary's brother, Hugh L. Dodds, a Methodist circuit preacher, was in Clinton County, MO, where he purchased 2 Missouri land patents, 1 for40 acres and the other for 65.2 acres, from the Lexington land office May 1, 1843. In the 1850 census, Hugh, his wife Harriet and daughters Isabella and Elaine, lived in the 16th district, Clinton Co., MO. In an 1850 letter to his brother, James Dodds, Hugh wrote that he was 300 miles above St. Louis, 25 miles from Liberty landing on the Missouri River. Believe he was at Plattsburg, MO, at that time. I haven't been able to trace him or his family since then. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
