At the time, his wife's name was Susan. I don't know if she is the mother of any of his children or all of them. The children listed are James Morgan Walker (24 Dec. 1794-Sept. 7, 1866) born in Estill County, KY., died in Blue Springs, Jackson County, Missouri, married Mary "Polly" Cox; Elizabeth (1795-1879) married Thomas Gaddy; John (1798-1877) married Talitha Tipton; Nancy (1799-1860) married Isack Mize; Robert (1802-1883)married Ann Schrivner; Riley born 1805; Joseph (1808-1877) married Mary "Polly" Henderson; William, born 1811. I have other information, but hopefully, that is enough to see if we are, indeed, looking at the same family. My tree is posted on Ancestry.com. I have the same Walker's you do--John and Susan--and my line comes from James Morgan. I've searched and searched for a marriage record that would substantiate Susan. When John Walker died in Clay County, Missouri, he names his children in the will, and his wife, at least at that time, is Susan. My ancestor James Morgan Walker is the first son, so I've always guessed that "Morgan" was possibly his mother's maiden name, but have no proof. Have you located any? I do have a marriage in Madison County, Kentucky, part of which later became Estill County, between a John Walker and Mary Harris Dec 25, 1792--but of course, that doesn't lead to a wife named Susan. Hoping you have more data than I do, Pat Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: YWClark Surnames: Reed Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.missouri.counties.clinton/473.3.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: A copy of William's death record (and other Reeds of Clinton County Missouri who died there between 1911-1959) can be obtained by a google/yahoo search of Missouri Death Records. According to his record he was a son of Nathan and Winnie Livingston; his brother was James Melvin Reed who married Mary Susan White and both are buried at Mt. Zion Cemetery in old Starfield Missouri off K Hwy. in Clinton County. James death record has his mother as Winnie Cannon, not Livingston. A search of Kansas census records show that Nathan and Winnie lived in Kansas for a time. This is my brother-in-law's line.
