Both families ended up in Oregon, so probably of no interest to you, but are connected to Clay county in a roundabout way. They married siblings, whose mother was a Livingston (md. Joseph Gage in Howard county), a large family in Missouri who settled mostly Clinton (but also in Clay and other nearby counties). Amy.
