This is the only downside of having the gateway opened to the county message board...all posts made to it are automatically forwarded to the mailing list. The poster to the message board does not have to be a subscriber to the list, so occasionally a spammer figures he can post his message for other visitors to the board, and most likely doesn't know he is also reaching everyone on a mailing list as well. The only alternative is to close off the gateway, but then you'd loose a great deal of valuable info just to ward off that occasional spammer.
