    3. John, a number of the Rootsweb lists have been down for a while now due to server problems. The HTML and attachment restrictions have been in place with them for the entire 6 1/2 years that I have been on the lists. Hope this helps. 2. Emily
    3. Does anyone have any information, first hand knowledge, or photos of the Bishop Furniture Factory in North Kansas City MO? It wasn't that far from the Cook's Paint and Varnish Company. (I have photos of people who worked there with my dad, as well. If you know someone who did, let me know...I would share the photos. This would be in the 1950s or later, possibly) My grandmother worked there prior to its closing in the 1960s sometime, and I'm seeking information on it. I went with her as a child and recall much of it, but dearly wish I had some photos, etc. I do have a few photos that I THINK are people in front of the dock at the factory. If there is anyone on the list, or if anyone knows of others who may recognize these photos, please send them my email address or vice-versa. I want to share these photos with other who may descend from the people in the pictures. These seemed to be taken pre 1950 due to the clothing. I think I have some others which are more recent...1950s. Can anyone tell me when the factory closed....went bankrupt. ALSO, I know that my grandmother told me she and another lady sewed the two wing-back chairs that used to be in the Truman Library. I recall seeing a news article on them when I was young (pos. 1960s), but the Truman library could tell me nothing. Does anyone know when the library opened? Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it. Email me privately, if you want to see the photos to determine if these are people you know or if this is indeed the factory. Thanks, Emily

    3. To Mailing List Administrators: Jackson County, Clay County, Platte County, Wyandotte County, Kansas City Please see the note below that I received from a Pennsylvania List Administrator regarding HTML vs plain text. I just changed my format over to plain text. I checked the archives for the five Mailing Lists above and it appears that only the Kansas City Mailing List has all the mail that I've posted. The last postings on the other Lists are dated October 7 even though I've sent postings every day (Oct 8 through today). I sent a posting using plain text to the Jackson County, Wyandotte County, and Kansas City Mailing Lists about 45 minutes ago. Only the Kansas City posting came through, so maybe there are other problems with mail too???? 3. I have come across GROOM(no S) in searching for our MALOTT family members in Clay County, but don't have the exact references. Check the Little Shoal Cemtery index in the MOGenWeb Archives page for Clay County: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/mo.clay/clay.htm . Also in the the 1877 Illustrated Historical Atlas there is a John S. Groom, Sheriff, and three different Groom names on land in Towship 53 & 51, North Range 31 West: A. Groom, J. Groom in sections 33 & 34, and M. A. Groom in Sections 3 and 4. There are probably more. I don't have the index, but someone is sure to. Good luck, Sylvia Wees (MALOTT, HYMER, OLDHAM, WILLIS, STORMS) MOCLAY-D-request@rootsweb.com wrote: > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > > >MOCLAY-D Digest Volume 03 : Issue 155 > >Today's Topics: > #1 [MOCLAY] Re: Grooms [kavajeczf@yahoo.com] > >Administrivia: >To unsubscribe from MOCLAY-D, send a message to > > MOCLAY-D-request@rootsweb.com > >that contains in the body of the message the command > > unsubscribe > >and no other text.
