Hello Everyone: Those of you who are working on your lines back to your 1600s American Ancestors will find the1600s Ancestors Data Base to be of great help. My recent postings to the Data Base has taken it to over 26,500 Ancestors who have descendants living today. I have also added several National Societies who have proven many of these Ancestors. Also at this time a few new respected Reference works that contain thousands of sources including some of the early colonists who have Royal Blood lines. All the entries are coded to indicate to which reference work or which National Society has at least one of their proven lines. Several of the National Societies have over 20 different lines from a single Ancestor. When you enter the 1600s Ancestor Data Base be sure to look at the top of each data page for the link that takes you to the "Data Base Information Page" Here you will find the codes and references listed and how to use them. This is MUST reading to understand the Data Base. We are constantly updating the Data Base with additional Ancestors added as time permits. You will find the 1600s Ancestor Data Base at: http://www.firstfamilies.org/db/ Everyone has FREE access to all our web site and the reports contained there. Enjoy and Happy Hunting Ryan Jackson Data Base Manager America's First Families
I was at the State Historical Society of Missouri yesterday and found a great book-bound copies of the newsletter of the Liberty Genealogical Society, 1987-1992. I read through it word by word and found a treasure trove. Is the Liberty Genealogy Society still operating? Do they still have that terrific newsletter? Was there more than one bound book? Cassie

I have been in contact with Richard's descendants, who note that Richard and his three sons served with Quantril and maybe later with the James Gang. We need to pursue this more. Genealogists, particularly those interested in the use of technology, will meet in St. Louis from 22-24 January 2004 for NGS GENTECH 2004. December 1 is the deadline for the "early bird" registration discount. Since 1993, GENTECH has been the national conference for people interested in GENealogy and TECHnology. In 2002 GENTECH strengthened its infrastructure and expanded its role by becoming a division of the National Genealogical Society. Each year the conference has featured a panel of nationally known speakers who have addressed themselves to every aspect of the use of computer and Internet technology to support genealogical research - to meet the needs of advanced users as well as those just beginning to use technology in their research This year there will be a special Librarian's Pre-Conference at NGS GENTECH Thursday, January 22, 2004. Details of this special Pre-Conference are at: www.slcl.lib.mo.us/slcl/sc/gentech04/precon-schedule.htm. Information on the entire NGS GENTECH conference can be found at: http://www.eshow2000.com/ngsgentech/register_now.cfm or at the St. Louis Genealogical Society website: www.stlgs.org/gentech2004 John Konvalinka, CGRS(sm), CGL(sm) www.konvalinka.com CGRS (Certified Genealogical Records Specialist) and CGL (Certified Genealogical Lecturer) are service marks of the Board for the Certification of Genealogists <http://www.BCGcertification.org> used under license by certified persons after periodic competency evaluations.

Thank you Marsha for the list of those buried in the New Hope Cemetery near Kearney, Clay Co., MO. I get the impression someone is looking for Groomer's in Clay County. If so, I know some who were buried in New Hope so please contact me and maybe we can help each other. There is one Groomer that is listed as Nancy Harris. She was Nancy Groomer before marriage and was the dau of William Groomer and Elizabeth Burton (Groomer), both buried in New Hope also.
