Abt. 1852 and had 4 children: Isaac William Smith born 04 Aug 1853 in Cass Co, MO; Joseph Nathaniel Smith born 08 Sep 1856 in Cass Co, MO; Albert Edward Smith born abt 1862 in Texas; and Francis Smith born abt 1865 in Texas. According to the 1860 census in Sugar Creek, Cass, MO, page 773B, Robert Smith was born in Virginia. I am a descendant through Isaac W Smith and then thorough his daughter Ida May Smith. Two questions for you: What is your source of information that Robert Smith was born in Clay County, MO (and can I get a copy of it)? and how are you related to Robert Smith. UNITED STATES. Census, Bureau of the. "Children under Institutional Care, 1923: Statistics of Dependent, Neglected, and Delinquent Children in Institutions and under the Supervision of Other Agencies for the Care of Children..." Washington, D.C., 1927. 381 p. In this special census of 1923, personal information about individuals was only taken from delinquents and inmates of homes for unwed mothers. However, this book does not list individuals. If you know the year that is sufficient. Just fill out what information you have(age, race, sex, etc.). With such a name I doubt that there would be any trouble getting a death certificate.
