Abt. 1852 and had 4 children: Isaac William Smith born 04 Aug 1853 in Cass Co, MO; Joseph Nathaniel Smith born 08 Sep 1856 in Cass Co, MO; Albert Edward Smith born abt 1862 in Texas; and Francis Smith born abt 1865 in Texas. According to the 1860 census in Sugar Creek, Cass, MO, page 773B, Robert Smith was born in Virginia. I am a descendant through Isaac W Smith and then thorough his daughter Ida May Smith. Two questions for you: What is your source of information that Robert Smith was born in Clay County, MO (and can I get a copy of it)? and how are you related to Robert Smith. UNITED STATES. Census, Bureau of the. "Children under Institutional Care, 1923: Statistics of Dependent, Neglected, and Delinquent Children in Institutions and under the Supervision of Other Agencies for the Care of Children..." Washington, D.C., 1927. 381 p. In this special census of 1923, personal information about individuals was only taken from delinquents and inmates of homes for unwed mothers. However, this book does not list individuals. See p. 22-138 for section titled: “Institutions or Homes for Dependent or Neglected Children or for Adults and Children, With Number of Children under Care on February 1, 1923 . . .”--which is arranged by state, thereunder by city. Yields name of institution, organization conducting it, year it was established, races and ages of inmates, and statistics; no addresses. He says Thayer, Missouri (that is on the Arkansas border) Several of his children remember him specifically he was born in Thayer and it was near Paradise, MO... Was there a Thayer or a town similar in that area. The names I am looking for would be Estell Mitchell born 1890. His father Sylvester N Mitchell born 1860 Indiana. Estell's mother Addie L Gentry born Feb 1862. This is all I have to go on and have hit a brick wall...

I really appreciate this. Mede died 4-29-1968 and if I put Roberts, I apologize for that his name was Mede Redmond his wife was Golda (Roberts) Redmond. She died July 29, 1960 if you run across hers too.

If you know the year that is sufficient. Just fill out what information you have(age, race, sex, etc.). With such a name I doubt that there would be any trouble getting a death certificate.
