I have very little info to go on, but I'm trying to find anything about a Mr. John Scott, who lived in Clark County (Farmington area) in the late 1880's. His brother, Bem Scott, was accused of murder in Indiana in 1888. I am researching Bem Scott and have come across newspaper accounts in Indiana that say that he had a brother John living in Clark County at the time. Bem Scott was a widower and the father of three girls: Sallie, Imogene, and Lucerne Scott. The newspaper accounts stated that at the time of the murder, the girls (age 10 and under) were living in Clark County with their uncle John. I'm wondering if anyone knows of this family? John and Bem's father's name was Lawrence Scott and their mother's name was Margaret Nash Scott. I wonder if the Scott family may have settled in Clark County years before?
