About twenty years ago a relative visited the grave of Thomas WELLS 1778 - 1855 and his wife, Mary HOSKINS 1785 - 1873 in Clark County. She took photographs of the grave, but no longer remembers the location. The photos show it to be a solitary grave. There are no others near. She said it was in or near a forest. Can anyone tell me the exact location of the grave. I would like to visit that place this summer. Thanks, Mitch
Wells Family Cemetery, Washington Township, Section 36, on the old Wells place, five miles southeast of Fairmont, Missouri on Highway D. From the book "Cemetery Inscriptions of Clark County, Missouri by Dunlap & Walker" (c) 1974 Take State Rout "A" south from Fairmont to route "A" and "D" junction. (Section 35) A and D junction is about .25 miles into Section 35. A county road is to the left at about .75 mile into section 35, also a county road to the right about .25 mile in section 36. In section 35 the map I have has three homes (two on north side of road and one on south side of road) State Route D. Section 36 has three homes all off rout D.
