We have pictures and there are birth and death dates. She was struck by a train. Benjamin was only 38 when that happened so I figure he could have even had a wife in between Ruth and Lizzie. When her death happened he had an older son, out of the house, who had been born in 185? in England, James Barthlomew DAWSON, a daughter, Tirzah DAWSON, also born in England, My Ggrandfather Kaye Woodhead DAWSON, & Katie DAWSON, born in New Hampshire and an infant, Allan T. DAWSON born in Liberty, 6 months old at the time of the 1870 Clay County census, all were the issue of Benjamin and Ruth. In the 1880 census Allan is living in the home of T.O. & Tirzah Dawson NELSON in Liberty, Missouri. I don't know at what point the Benjamin DAWSON family moved to Kahoka. The reason I didn't get to do ANYTHING while I was at the Kahoka cemetery for the first and ONLY time was because the belt to the alternator had broken and we ended up pushing our car into a farmer's barn to get enough of a charge to limp into Mexico and get a new one put on at Ewer's tire store. When we were at the cemetery and I spied a grounds keeper and wanted to go over and ask him to help me find the "OUR FATHER" tombstone, my husband said "NO way, I'm worried about my battery going dead." or something like that. Such frustration. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh If anyone is a member of or can put me in contact with the Historicla Society of Clark County, please feel free to do so. I did everything I could by phone, calling the city and county regarding the graveyard records to no avail so now my only hope about finding when that grave was dug lies elsewhere, but WHERE??? Was trying to find information on what I believe to be two cemeteries in the area of Winchester, Clark Co., MO. Would you know if there is anyone that has Clark Co. cemetery information like Junior Wilkerson has on Knox Co., MO?
