My Great grandfather, Kaye Woodhead DAWSON, was a section hand on the railroad and a school teacher/principal in Clark City, MO. before 1889 when he went to Oklahoma. My Great grandmother Mary Jane Johnston DAWSON was also a school teacher in the same school. That was where they met. My Great grandfather wrote many poems that were centered around Kahoka and one about going to Keokuk, Ia. and running into a friend there. There are lots of little clues about history and places in these poems. Has anyone ever heard of "dutcherland". Was there a church in or near Keokuk called Happy Hill? !n 1883, at least he seems to be a school teacher. He would have been 21. Peggy
