    2. Art and Karen Hoch
    3. Peggy: I have Wilsons from Clark Co., Mo. - I don't know that it is from the Athens area, however. I know some were in Chambersburg area. I don't have any of the names you mentioned in with my Wilsons, but I have a lot of gaps in my information. Andrew Jackson Wilson b. 1815 in PA. According to "A History of Clark Co., Mo." he moved to Clark Co. in 1846. His children were: - Taylor Wilson 1847-1848 - George Washington Wilson 1849-1936. I have more information on him giving his wife and children if needed. - Mary Ann Wilson b. 1850 - *William Glasgow Wilson b. 1853, (he is my ancestor), m. Union Josephine Pherigo - Henry Clay Wilson 1855-1927 - Marrian Malisa Wilson b. 1857 - Andrew Jackson Wilson b. 1860 - Eliza Jane Wilson 1862-1881 - Ulysses S. Grant Wilson 1864-1889, m. Louisa Melvina Pherigo - Robert Benjamin Franklin Wilson b. 1867 - John Barnes Wilson 1870-1932 - (I have been given further info. on this family also if wanted.) His children were born elsewhere than Clark Co. - Erastus Wilson 1873 or 1875 -1958. His children were also born out of Clark Co. so won't include those here. *William Glasgow Wilson's children: Viola W. Wilson, Alice Wilson, Nora Wilson, Clarence Oliver Wilson, Florence Wilson, Celia May Wilson, Jewell Wilson. Most of them were born in Clark County but moved away. There was another Wilson mentioned in the book: In 1835 Joseph G. Wilson and his father emigrated from KY, settling near the present site of the Wilson Bridge (across the Wyaconda on the Kahoka and Fairmont Road). The short writeup doesn't mention Athens, or the names you show, either. Just last week, we visited the Wilson Cemetery to try to find a Wilson gravestone, and there are Wilsons around there still. I don't know that any of this is helpful to you, but one never knows. Is there anyone else researching my Wilsons in Clark Co., Mo.? Thanks, Karen ********************** Peggy wrote: would like to find someone connected to the Bedell and Wilson families who > lived in Athens, Clark County, Missouri during the mid to late 1800's. > > I have a J B Bedell (believe it is John B) who married a Florence Dobinbus > (sp ?). they had at least four children: Doris, Harry, Georgie, Neba. > Both Doris and Neba married Wilson men.

    1. [MOCLARK-L] Bedell and Wilson families...Athens
    2. Peggy
    3. would like to find someone connected to the Bedell and Wilson families who lived in Athens, Clark County, Missouri during the mid to late 1800's. I have a J B Bedell (believe it is John B) who married a Florence Dobinbus (sp ?). they had at least four children: Doris, Harry, Georgie, Neba. Both Doris and Neba married Wilson men. According to an article in the Kahoka Gazette Herald.."Relics and Reminiscenses" J. B. Bedell was the grandson of Nancy Sailor and William Bedell. I need to know who the parents of J. B. Bedell was and who he married. I do not have a DOB for J. B. but probably about 1860-1870. Thank you. Peggy pegleg@ipa.net

    3. My Ggrandfather John Henry FELL lived in Revere from about 1900 until is his death in January 2, 1933. He was a Circuit Court Judge and a breeder of horses. The home place was(understand still is) located on Hwy 81. I will making a trip to Kakoka later this month to try and find his gravesite. He was buried in Kahoka. I am traveling from west central Illinois and will probably come into Kakoka on 136. Can someone tell be how to get to the cemetery(s) from 136? What type of information would the Historical Society have available? I will be on my way to St Louis and will only have one day. Any advice or suggestion are welcome. If anyone needs helps in the Rock Island or Mercer County areas of Illinois, let me know and I will try to assist. Thank you, Rita R in Illinois

    2. Ann H. Mack
    3. I've been working on that group for several years. Where did you get the birth date (1781) for John B? Haven't got him a dad or mom yet...the other Riney's in KY seem to belong to someone else. James is my best bet for a dad...I'll share what meager data I have. Been on both the St. Mary MD and Washington Co. KY sites....no luck. I also didn't know about Mary Ogden from MD. There weren't any records on her in St. Marys...could she have been from a different county. I always thought it was interesting that she signed (x'ed) her name: Mary Ogden Riney in the estate papers for John B. Do you have them? My connection is Mary Annie Riney m. James Shuman, parents of Rosetta Shuman who married Hosea Stout, son of George Stout and mary (Polly) Bennett, who were parents of my grandmother, Annie Altha Stout. (1873-1946) who married James Basil Helms and stayed in the Canton area. Let me hear from you and your line. Ann in Carmel

    3. I didn't know the 1900 census was on CD. I know it is a job to transcribe it and will be larger then earlier ones. I transcribed the 1850-60- & 70 Adair Co. Mo and indexed the 1880 for Adair Co. so know it is quite a job so my hat is off to you. Do you plan to do anything with it when you finish? I would be interested to know as I have many families in Clark Co. Gladys L. 3. Well you got lucky - my husband doesn't like any part of it. Something about "too busy living - to worry about the dead." Thanks for the offer..may need it, if I can ever track down the parents of my Lucy Ann Carter Roberts Colwell. She and her husband and youngest son, are all buried in Keokuk. I just visited their graves in April. Pretty much know where everyone else is buried - out in Frazee Cemetery and Sand Cemetery around Wayland, MO. Just don't know about her parents yet. Hoping I'll come across someone with the 1870 census who may have them. Got her death certificate today, ? Carter listed as father and Unknown for mother. One last hope is that she married her 1st husband, John Roberts in Clark Co., and just ordered their marriage certificate from Kahoka a few days ago - hopefully, she was under the age of 18 (I suspect she was or she was exactly 18) and they'll have the names of her parents on her marriage certificate. Keeping my fingers crossed, that I'll finally get lucky. Will hopefully, have the 1900 census for Vernon Twp transcribed in the next couple of weeks and Bob will post on the Rootsweb site. Then I'll continue on to the next town - I've already searched it for mine and couldn't find anyone other than in Vernon Twp - do you have any preference for the next town I'll transcribe? I'll try and help you out and in the meantime, if I come across any more Piersons, I'll let you know. Tracy nauvoo@interpath.com PS Most people think I live in Nauvoo, but I'm actually in the Navy and stationed in Norfolk, VA right now. However, my husband and I bought an acre of land off of Hwy 96 right outside of Nauvoo, and will eventually retire to that land. ----- Original Message ----- From: Jay & Karla Jefferson <jeffersn@rnet.com> To: <MOCLARK-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, July 10, 2000 5:21 PM Subject: Re: [MOCLARK-L] CAREY/WILLIFORD/JOHNSON/MYERS/PIERSON > I will be glad to pass on any info that I find on that name.
