    1. [MOCLARK-L] McHUGH and allied lines
    2. Gene Bruner
    3. My interest in the McHUGH name comes from the fact that two of my BRUNER great-grandaunts married McHUGH brothers, sons I believe of John and Elizabeth RICE McHUGH, b 08 Apr 1796 VA and bet 1804-1805 NC, respectively. Lodoskia BRUNER b 14 Apr 1846 Hancock Co., KY md 18 Nov 1860 Winchester, Clark Co., MO, one Aquilla McHUGH b 30 Mar 1823 Warren Co., OH. Artelia S. BRUNER b 1844 Hancock Co., KY, md 08 Mar 1865 Alexandria, Clark Co., MO, by Justice of the Peace Shafer, one Harvey McHUGH b 1840. Lodoskia and Artelia 'Teel' were elder sisters of my paternal great-grandfather, James Driscoll 'J.D' BRUNER. Allied lines with these families are GAINES, JEWETT, FAHRNER, ENGLAND, BONNERT, HARBOR, SHRIVER, POWER, CROSS, DICKINSON. I would like to come to correspond with members of these families in the hope that we might know each other as distant cousins sharing BRUNER ancestry, a real attempt to number correctly the many McHUGH descendants. Thanks for reading! Gene Bruner Denver, Colorado

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/gMB.2ACI/297 Message Board Post: CLARK COUNTY COURIER Kahoka, MO Feb 24, 1922 Mary Mullinx, daughter of James and Sophia Mullinx, was born at Downing, Missouri, December 23, 1868, and died February 18, 1922, her age at demise being 53 years, 1 month and 25 days. On March 4, 1884 she was united in marriage with Joseph Carroll, and of this union two children were born, one of whom, Carrie, died in infancy in the year 1889 and two weeks later the husband and father was also called by death On October 23, 1891, she was united in marriage with W.C. Humphrey and shortly thereafter removed to Kahoka, where she made her home until called to the home above. She had been an invalid for a number of years and had suffered much, so that death brought release from pain and misery and opened the door to rest and peace. She is survived by her husband, W.C. Humphrey; a daughter, Mrs. Paralee Papajohn of Mt Pleasant, Iowa; a granddaughter, Miss Alma Ruth Scrimsher, also of Mt Pleasant, Iowa; a sister, Mrs. Henry Smith; and a niece, Mrs. Clara Farris of Keokuk, and many friends who will mourn her departure. At the age of 21 years she professed faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and united with the M.E. Church, South, and in this faith she lived and died. As she felt the end approaching she spent much time in prayer and expressed herself as being confident of the forgiving love of the Christ. And thus she passed to the other side, reconciled to God, and confident of a welcome to that city, whose Maker and Builder is God. The funeral service, conducted by C.E. Newton, was held from the home at 2:00pm on Monday, February 20, and interment was made in Kahoka cemetery. May the Lord in His love minister abundantly to those who mourn The pallbearers were Levi Alexander, T.L. Montgomery, E.C. Bloom, H.B. Montgomery, Henry Meyer and J.W.
