Judith, When I first wrote you I thought I had communitcated with someone from your line but it was Eliza's line. They even had a photo of her. Life in early Mo. was very hard and the women all look very plain and sometimes hard. Did you notice the difference in the physical description of James and Thomas? One dark and one light? I thought that was unusual. I am not sure what the names in the brackets are [Mat Mitchell and Lida Mitchell] There are seven children? right? Sarah, Eliza, John, Sue, Richard, Mattie, Nann? Want to double check before I add them to the data base. Thanks for sharing this with me. If I have anyone else contact me from your line, I will put them in touch with you. Glennis
Glennis The names in brackets are names I'm not certain of. I have Matt listed as a child but failed to put any source information for him, so I have no idea where this came from. Lida is listed in correspondence as such; "It was either Lida or Sarah who was called Sis and married a Dr Blair." From photos that belonged to a great uncle of mine, there is one with the following written on the back; "Dr Blair & Sue"; "(Grandma Thorpe's sister)" Grandma Thorpe was Mattie Ann Mitchell who married Wm. Lincoln Thorpe. I have Lida's name in brackets because I haven't found "Lida" mentioned anyplace except the letter referenced above. Mariam is also a daughter; her headstone is in the Waterloo, Kingman co, KS Cemetery; engraved as such; "Mitchell, Mariam A.; dau of N.B. & E." "Born 30 July 1872" "Died 28 Dec 1892" Mariam is buried next to her mother; Elizabeth Jane (Caves) Mitchell. I also have Mariam as a child based on another family photo; she is identified as; "Mariam Mitchell" "(Grandma Thorpe's sister)" Glennis, you refer to the physical description of James and Thomas, I'm not familiar with what your talking about, could you direct me to this please? And, Thank you, you may freely direct anyone my way who is interested in my line or any other information I might have. I would also appreciate being able to be in touch with the person from Eliza's line, or if you prefer, ask this person to contact me privately.
