Thanks Glennis I have information for the descendants of John Cave, Jr; but can't positively tie him in with the John, Sr family or John, Sr with his supposed siblings and parents. May I ask what solid evidence you have that verifies him as John, Sr's son? I realize death certificates are only as accurate as the knowledge of the person giving the information; however, on the death certificate for John, Jr's daughter, Elizabeth (Caves) Mitchell, states that her father, John Caves was born in Wales. Perhaps this is where they originally came from; census records show him to have been born in VA and I've seen the transcribed marriage information from Surry co, NC. It seems John, Sr and John, Jr went in a different direction than the other siblings in their families, which is another reason I wonder if I'm missing a John Cave someplace or if they each truly belong in this Cave family?
