Gosh, think my credibility with this list is zilch, am still slogging away on that Patterson-Casebolt-Pedelo Ridge-Western Benton Township monolith! Will be retiring this coming spring and may move back to Springfield. Regardless of whether I do move back, will definitely contribute to the history project and would be willing to volunteer my dubious typing and computer skills to the effort. Wondered if the Samuel Hyde descendent knew of any family member who had photographed the Hyde cemetery in the 1950's, 1960's or 1970's? Reason I ask is I understand that is currently is not in good shape. However in the 1970's, when the Center for Archaeological Research at South West Mis (oops) at Missouri State University studied the cemetery they reported that there was a table top/box grave in the cemetery. This type of marker was very popular in the south, originated in the british isles. Would love to see a picture of it. By the way, the Samuel Hyde was not only a distant neighbor of the Casebolts but part of their social/economic circle. Hope everyone is warmer than we are up here in Iowa!
