Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ZMB.2ACI/1872 Message Board Post: The Christian County Museum and Historical Society met this afternoon. We decided to try to learn if there is any interest in trying to make a new history of Christian County family. Hundreds of families with multiple generations in the counties and/or lots of interesting history in the county failed to submit any information on their lines for the history published about eight years ago. This is a very preliminary inquiry. Would you or do you know of others who would actually submit stories about your family or families if this were attempted again. Unless numerous stories are actually submitted, attempting another publication would be fairly useless. As with almost all histories, the book - if it is done - will represent those people for whom someone put the thought and effort into supplying the information. Often, people believe the earliest, most prolific, richest, most powerful or most influential people are those whose stories are told. However, unless a single individ! ual is writing the book and picking and choosing who to include, histories of families or residents are nearly always just what those researching and writing stories make it. No particular rules have been formulated on submissions. We are just trying to learn whether anyone cares to send stories before making any additional plans. P. S. It's only three years and a few months until the county's sequecentennial (150th anniversary) in 2009. This is a suggestion being considered for the observation. ==== MOCHRIST Mailing List ==== Don't forget the USGenWeb Archives section.... http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ussearch.htm ============================== Search Family and Local Histories for stories about your family and the areas they lived.
