Hey Cuz!! The Mary Stiffler who is buried in the Casey Cemetery is the 2nd wife of George Washington Stiffler, Mary Napier. I know for years some of the Stiffler researchers thought that Mary was the daughter of John & Martha, but George's pension records cleared that up. He was first married to my gg-grandmother, Georgia Ann Tye, after she died he married Mary Napier (can't recall what her maiden name was), and George is buried there at the Casey Cemetery with both wives. I've yet to find anything on Mary & John "Lennings", but just heard from someone who found a Land Record in Greene Co. MO 1871 for "JOHN N. JENNINGS" - which really makes me wonder if whoever transcribed that original marriage record mistook the name "LENNINGS" instead of "JENNINGS". Need to order the original marriage record if available ~ do you have any addie to the courthouse in Springfield? Gina, Thanks for clearing that up for me. My understanding is that there were more than one Jennings family in Greene County. But we have a Jennings in our tree. Ardelia Manley md William Jennings in 1854 and their daughter, Rebecca Elizabeth md Wilson Peter Glidewell in 1876 and THEIR son, William Davis Glidewell md LaVada Stiffler (d/o Albert & Leah Melissa Nokes) in 1910. These particular Jennings had a home place on what is now the Wilson Creek Battleground National Park on the Christian/Greene County Line (in Greene). I have yet to spend enough time in their library which has been recently expanded, but I understand they have some info on the Jennings family. Addie for Greene County is Greene County Courthouse, 940 Boonville, Springfield MO 65802, Keep me posted, Brenda Gina Thomas Patterson <[email protected]> wrote: Hey Cuz!!
