    3. Jerry, Just how far is Branson from Ozark? My first cousin who lives in CA and I (who live in GA) are hoping to get together next summer to go around together to see some of the places and cemeteries for our mutual ancestors. I have been to Nixa and Ozark (summer before last) but she's never been, and she's probably hoping to see Branson while she's in the area. Is Mt. Vernon, Lawrence County, close enough to drive from Ozark and back in one day? Our grandparents are buried in Paris Springs. Also, do you know whether one can fly into Springfield by commercial airlines, or does she have to go to St. Louis, then down? Your advice would be greatly appreciated! :-) Jean Mayfield Cuevas sunny (and now calm) Marietta, GA

    3. Ozark to Branson is a hop-skip and a jump. A few years back I came to Monett (in Lawrence county) for a reunion and stayed in a motel there. We had no problem driving to Branson for an evening performance after doing other stuff all day. (But watch out for the speed trap in Reeds Spring!) It's a beautiful if somewhat curvy drive. Mt. Vernon to Ozark should be a little closer and straighter than my Monett to Branson drive. > -----Original Message----- > From: Jean Mayfield Cuevas [mailto:[email protected]] > Sent: Saturday, May 10, 2003 1:59 PM > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: [MOCHRIST] Visit to White River Valley Area > > > Jerry, > > Just how far is Branson from Ozark? 3. I know you had this message directed to someone else but since I live in Springfield I thought I would help you. Branson is about 30 miles south of Ozark. You can get there in about an hour on Highway 65 Mount Vernon is about 30 miles west of Springfield on I-44. Yes, you can get there and back in one day. Actually you can get there in about an hour from Springfield. If you are in Ozark, I would allow about an hour and half to two hours to get there. And yes, Springfield is a regional airport. You may have to fly through St. Louis to get here but yes you can get her by plane. I know American is one of the airlines out of here. I don't what others there are. One thing about flying into Springfield that most people avoid is that it is a little more expensive. You might check into the cost to fly into Springfield versus flying into St. Louis and then renting a car and compare which is cheaper. --- Jean Mayfield Cuevas <[email protected]> wrote: > Jerry, > > Just how far is Branson from Ozark? 3. Looks like other folks beat me to it. Good advice all! We, though, are flying into Kansas City and coming down from there, via Joplin. We've gotten some really good rates on Southwest. 3. Isn't it about 35 miles to Branson from there? I know we stopped in Ozark to see a Great Aunt back in 1989 and then went on to Branson. It did not seem like it took very long to get there.
