    1. Re: [MOCHRIST] Susan Sink Edwards Death Certificate
    2. Glenda, The version filed with the state has "don't know" for both name of mother and birthplace of mother. Your mother may have given you a version that someone else (unknown) had marked up. The state's copy was filed by W.W. Daugherty, the undertaker. I don't know his relationship, if any, to Thomas Jefferson "Jeff" Daugherty, the informant and son-in-law of Susan's long-dead brother Stephen. The only items marked through on the original involve Susan's birthplace. It first showed "Mo" or Missouri, which is marked out. Then it shows "Tenss" or Tennessee, which is marked out. (I don't think she ever stepped foot in Tennessee.) Then it shows "Mich" or Michigan, which was correct. Pete Amos' old manuscript on the Edwards family makes reference to a version that includes Lucinda Moffett's name, but this document has murkier origins than the official death certificate. There is no record of this marriage for David Sink. It should have been in Virginia between 1828 and 1830 or so, if it existed. But I haven't found it for Franklin Co., where David apparently returned from Michigan and likely stayed with or near the children from his first wife. We know he didn't marry his third (or fourth) wife, Wealthy Hartwell, until 1838 in Michigan, even though she was born in VA. Randy McConnell
