She is my second great grandmother on the Gooch side of the family. I have had a copy of her death certificate given me by my mother since about 1976. I am not sure who originally obtained it. It shows "unknown" with a line drawn through it and Lucinda Moffet written above. Under birthplace of mother is Don't Know drawn through and Virginia written above. It is signed by Jeff Daugerty. I will be happy to send a copy to anyone interested. I have tried repeatedly to download and view the copy from the website, but it times out. I am on dial-up; possibly that is the reason.
Randy, thanks for the explanation. I guess I just never imagined anyone would write on a legal document or cross out information. My copy is stamped on the top as a certified copy of the original and is dated Feb 18, 1983. I guess whoever then crossed out the info and wrote in Lucinda before the copies were made and distributed to various family members.
