My Christian County Brick Wall is when and where Moses Shipley WARD died. In the 1870 Census he was living in Flat Rock Twp. Stone County, MO. He is shown with his wife Mahala F. (PRYOR) and his father Squire WARD living with him. In 1874 his mother stated in a sworn statement to the Southern Claims Commission that her husband had gone up to Missouri from Washington Co. Arkansas to move his son to Springfield. She had not heard from her husband since 1871 when he was living in Christian County. She further stated that she only had four living children. Of the four named Moses was not one of them. I have not been able to find any clue as to what became of Moses or his wife, but neither of them are on the 1880 census. If his Mothers' testimony was correct then Moses died between 1871 and 1874 in either Stone, Christian or Greene Counties. Any information would be appreciated. Bonnie Sell
