Meg, If the Cabin was donated to the state, then went to either the Department of Conservation or Department of Natural Resource--parks. I sense that you are not exactly sure where it was located. If you can get a better idea of its location and the names of the individuals who donated it, you might try contacting both of those Departments. If I were you I would direct my question to the land acquisition section of each Department. Way back in the dark ages, I worked in Jeff City for what was then called the Highway Department. They had incredible records detailing the acquisition of land for the state highway system. The early records included wonderfully detailed maps showing "improvements"--houses, barns, etc. For conservation, try: http://mdc.mo.gov/contact/ For DNR, try: webmanager@dnr.mo.gov <webmanager@dnr.mo.gov> Good luck, tell us if you were able to track it down. Thank you so much for the links, Kerry. I will forward them to the Bookout cousin who is looking for the cabin.
