Well, Kerry, actually it's my husband's family that are connected to the Mc Croskeys. Let's see if I can remember. I haven't been doing much research on them. Our 21 year old daughter has been working on this side of the family for almost two years. Last summer we went to the NGS conference in Nashville and then drove up to Washington County, VA and did a couple of days research there. That was interesting to both of us. Matthew Duff McCroskey is the brother to James Madison McCroskey (which is our line). James Madison married Rachel Gibson both are buried in the Patterson Cemetery in Greene County, MO James Madison and Rachel Gibson McCroskey son William Marion (is our line) married Emily Elizabeth Payne. William and Emily Elizabeth Payne daughter, Kathryn Elizabeth (Kate) married Claude Evert Mack which is my husband's family. Claude is my husband's ggrandfather. McCroskey's, Duffs, Paynes, Pattersons, Berrys and a couple of more have kept Lauren quite busy. Lots of miss information floating around out there. It's very hard to track down the correct information when no references or sources are sited or shared. That's one thing we both are sticklers on. We follow lots of leads in our research.(We are Show-Me State natives!!) Anyway, we have lots of interesting conversations and some speculations about things.
