    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Harp, Bohannon Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ZMB.2ACI/1616.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Geri Just found your message. I have no particular interest in your Thomas David Harp but have some family lines who married into the Bolin family in Christian Co MO. However, I believe I found your Thomas in the 1880 census. If so, forget those family stories as you'll surprised: Thomas BOHANNAN Self M Male W 30 AR Farmer MO MO Elizabeth BOHANNAN Wife M Female W 30 MO Keeping House KY VA William W. BOHANNAN Son S Male W 10 AR Farm Hand AR MO Georga A. BOHANNAN Dau S Female W 8 AR AR MO Florance BOHANNAN Dau S Female W 5 AR AR MO James T. BOHANNAN Son S Male W 4 AR AR MO Martha L. BOHANNAN Dau S Female W 2 AR AR MO Thomas HARP Other S Male W 20 AR Farm Hand AR MO The above is from the Linn Township/Town in Christian Co MO for 1880. So he was already in the same county and looks like at this time he was a farm hand. From this information if he went to CA he came back to where he felt was home. However, I suspect he never went to CA before his marriage to your grandmother. He may be one of those who figured no one would ever check his stories and could tell stories that were so believeable that after a while he may have throught they were true himself. I know from my husband's family ties that there are Harp's in SE MO about 15 minutes from the AR line. I suspect that you might find your Harp connection over in NE Arkansas, possibly Clay Co. and the other side in Dunklin Co MO. Of course there's also the possibility that the AR/MO births of his parents are practically straight south of Christian Co. If you need further help, let me know. I'll see what I can do to help.
