    3. Hi Gina, I wish I had something to share with you regarding your family, but I don't. The only curious thing I can say is that my BLEDSOES also moved from Crooked Creek in Carroll/Boone County, AR, to Christian County MO, right around the last few years of the 1860's. Makes one wonder if they may have traveled together....OR, why they both were moving from and to the same places! :) Could not find your Mary Jane's marriage when I looked on my marriage cd, but did find these: Marriage Index: Missouri, 1851-1900 Stiffler, George Spouse : Napier, Mary A. Marriage date : Dec 15, 1889 County : Taney Gender : Male Source : County Court Records at Forsyth, MO Microfilm Number : Not available on microfilm Stiffler, M. E. Spouse : Glenn, Joseph Marriage date : Feb 7, 1886 County : Taney Gender : Female Source : County Court Records at Forsyth, MO Microfilm Number : Not available on microfilm Stiffler, Martha A. Spouse : Durbin, William R. Marriage date : Apr 15, 1899 County : Taney Gender : Female Source : County Court Records at Forsyth, MO Microfilm Number : Not available on microfilm I also checked Jenning/Jennings and Lanning, no hits. 3. Thanks Jean - What we've gathered from John Bardell Stiffler's pension records is that he was conscripted into Shaler's regiment, and rode with them 4 months at which time that particular group disbanded. He apparently headed back to the Crooked Creek area, gathered up his family that was left and took out for the Springfield area where the Union encampments were. I guess with all the border fighting that went on along the Missouri/Arkansas border, alot of folks bailed out. I read somewhere that after the war, only 4 houses were left standing in the Harrison Arkansas area where Crooked Creek Twp was, and with my family's luck, I very much doubt if one of their homes was still standing! Thanks for the look-up, I appreciate it. I'm not sure right off hand who the M.E. Stiffler who married Glenn Joseph was ~ I'm at work right now & all my "stuff" is at home! ~gina~ --- Jean Mayfield Cuevas <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi Gina, > > I wish I had something to share with you regarding > your family, but I > don't.
