I have a few photos of the Hale and related families from the 1800s. Two of the Hale family members held office in Christian County. One Hale family member grew up in Sparta and then became one of the first pilots in what became the U.S. Air Force. I have imformation on about 200 members of the Hale family who were born in Christian County. I have a photo of a member of the Greene-Christian County Home Guard who served in the Civil War, William Park, who lived in Linden. Let me know if I can do anything for you. Thanks brian

Well apparently these "ROLL CALL" requests had their desired effect and intentions. Several of the lists I belong to were "hit" by someone pushing for a "roll call" which tied up Rootsweb's email servers. Apparently enough so, that when I sent the below messages Friday, they still have not came through, so I am combining the two, and sending as one. Again. JC ----- Original Message ----- From: Jim Cochran <jimeco@classicnet.net> To: MOCHRIST-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Fri Jan 6 9:32 Subject: Fwd: SURNAME ROLL CALLS List members: Usually, this info is requested either by the list administrator, or someone asking (off the list) the list administrator to call for one. It has been awhile since we've had one, and I wish someone would have asked me to do this, (OFF LIST) before it started, and gotten out of control Number one reason, is there is some guidelines that I would prefer to be followed, most importantly to CHANGE the subject line to something else, that shows who/what you are researching, similar to this format: ELLINGSWORTH - ROLL CALL That way, anyone not researching that line, can skip it, and feel safe, knowing that there is probably nothing pertaining to what they need in it, and not have to scan through dozens of emails, like there is going through here now. Another reason, is that this seems to be something started as a practical joke, or an attempt to sabotage Rootsweb's internet bandwitdh, as it appears to be going around all the lists, tieing them all up. Right now, I've only internet access through my job, so I try to keep a low profile, but if there is any problems or suggestions, please don't hesitate to ask me OFF LIST at either jimeco @ classicnet.net or at jimeco @ juno.com. On another note, I wouldn't, and I don't believe any other list administrator would delete someone for non-participation. If you are more comfortable lurking, than by all means, just sit back and lurk! One more reason something of this nature should be done by the list admin. instead of all nilly-willy. Because of these "roll call" messages being passed around Rootsweb lists, it is haveing the same effect as a virus would, by slowing down communications. For example, the messages I posted this morning, to various county and surname lists, has yet to come back to me. I assume it is because of the heavy email volume these roll calls have made on Rootsweb servers. Regards, and best of 2006 to all of you. Stewart, Mary (Shinn)) age 78 years, 11 months & 17 days died of dropsy on May 6, 1889 near Vernon, Jennings County, Indiana. She was born in New Jersey, USA, May 19, 1810, in 1831 was married to John Stewart (Stuart) . The union was blessed with 8 children, four boys and four girls, of whom the greater number are still living; one son and one daughter having fallen asleep. Her husband preceded her to the unseen world 39 years ago, leaving her with a large family of small children to care for. In 1853 she came to Indiana, settled in Jennings County, where she continued to live until her death. She united with the Presbyterian church in 1843. Hi Shirley, I found Jacob and Nancy in Dent Co in 1870 but they were back in Christian by 1876. Nancy is on the 1900 census in Christian but Jacob died in 1883. I will try Taney again and see if I come up with anything. Would appreciate any information you come across. I am in Palm Springs Ca, where are you located. Thanks !! Kaye
Kaye, I don't know where Jacob and Nancy are buried. I may have seen something on it a year or so ago on my sister-in-law's notes. I believe they may be buried in Taney Co. The family was there before they came on up into Christian Co. Some of them went into northern Ark and then on into OK. There's suppose to be a Pruitt cemetery in Forsyth. I seem to remember going there at the end of the 70's before I got into genealogy. I may have brought back a CD with her Pruitt info on it. Will try to find something Shirley Moore
Jack, What were your parents names? We are researching the same ancestors. In other words, I guess we are related. My grandfather was Charley Newton Campbell and he was a twin brother to your Anna Campbell Kaufman. I have information on Thomas and Sarah Jane. I have pictures of them if you don't have any. I know that there was one Kaufman son named Dallas. I remember him. He and my dad Laymond "Toe" Campbell were real close. My parents, grandparents and greatgrandparents are all buried close together in Pembina Cemetery, close to Rogersville. I need to find out what you know and what you want to find out about.
