    1. Re: [MOCHRIST] John Lenning & Mary Jane Stiffler - NEED HELP!
    2. Gina Thomas Patterson
    3. Hey Cuz!! The Mary Stiffler who is buried in the Casey Cemetery is the 2nd wife of George Washington Stiffler, Mary Napier. I know for years some of the Stiffler researchers thought that Mary was the daughter of John & Martha, but George's pension records cleared that up. He was first married to my gg-grandmother, Georgia Ann Tye, after she died he married Mary Napier (can't recall what her maiden name was), and George is buried there at the Casey Cemetery with both wives. I've yet to find anything on Mary & John "Lennings", but just heard from someone who found a Land Record in Greene Co. MO 1871 for "JOHN N. JENNINGS" - which really makes me wonder if whoever transcribed that original marriage record mistook the name "LENNINGS" instead of "JENNINGS". Need to order the original marriage record if available ~ do you have any addie to the courthouse in Springfield? Thanks, ~gina~ --- Brenda Gardner <[email protected]> wrote: > Dear Cousin Gina, > Hi! 3. Dear Cousin Gina, Hi! I show Mary Jane was married to a John Lennings and that she died October 19 1929 and is buried in Taney Co MO, in the Casey Cemetery, under her maiden name. As you know I researched the Stiffler's early in my learning phase and I did not understand the importance of source notation. Where I got this info is a question, but I will try to track it down. Perhaps it will give you something else to work from. I think they had 10-11 children and one of their sons was William L. Allen (who is my great grandfather) and one of their daughters was Pauline Allen Daniels and her son was Charlie Daniels. I understand that Charlie Daniels may have had the Allen Family Bible at one time. I know the Allen family lived in and around Greene and Christian Counties. Isaac died in 1878, but have no idea where he is buried at, nor when and where Sarah died and whatever happened to the family Bible. Thank you for any help you can give to tracking down this family.

    1. Re: [MOCHRIST] Inmans Shop
    2. Nick Inman owned a farm south of 14 along Highway M, as best I can tell. He lived adjacent to my Inmans, whose relationship has not been proved, but probably dates back to Augusta VA. That would have placed him along the Wilderness Road near where it crosses the old Mt. Vernon Road (Route 14). This would not have been within the city of Nixa, as known until recent years when expansion began to the southwest. The 1876 tax map description should place his place exactly. Randy McConnell

    1. [MOCHRIST] Re: Visit to Branson, Ozark etc

    3. A lot of good advice here. Just a few updates: Hwy 65 from I-44 in Springfield to Branson MO is 4 lane divided all the way now, about a 45 mile drive between city limits, with Ozark being about a 10 minute drive from Springfield on Hwy 65. Reeds Spring, and Reeds Spring Junction, are out of the picture as of this past 6 months, as much as driving along Hwys 160 and 13 (Springfield to Branson West, formerly known as Lakeview) as there have been road improvements, and new roads that bypass both towns, cuts down driving time about 20 minutes...straight shot, no curves, stopping, and no speed limit changes etc. It is definatley cheaper to fly to one of the major city airports ( KC, Tulsa, St Louis) than to come directly to Springfield Regional unfortunatley. Just have to do some homework and decide for yourself. A longer notice though, should be significant price decrease. Case in point, cut from a letter to the editor last week: <<<<one-night trip to Houston with about one week's notice. I checked fares on American Airlines from Springfield and Tulsa airports. Both routes require connecting with the same flights through Dallas-Fort Worth. The fare from Tulsa is $224 round trip. For the privilege of flying from Springfield and saving a two- to three-hour drive, the fare is $1,017.50!>>>> Regards, Jim Cochran Nixa MO http://members.tripod.com/anetminder/outonalimb.htm On Sat, 10 May 2003 14:12:41 -0600 "Mike St. Clair" <[email protected]> writes: > Ozark to Branson is a hop-skip and a jump.
