    3. Thanks Jean - What we've gathered from John Bardell Stiffler's pension records is that he was conscripted into Shaler's regiment, and rode with them 4 months at which time that particular group disbanded. He apparently headed back to the Crooked Creek area, gathered up his family that was left and took out for the Springfield area where the Union encampments were. I guess with all the border fighting that went on along the Missouri/Arkansas border, alot of folks bailed out. I read somewhere that after the war, only 4 houses were left standing in the Harrison Arkansas area where Crooked Creek Twp was, and with my family's luck, I very much doubt if one of their homes was still standing! Thanks for the look-up, I appreciate it. I'm not sure right off hand who the M.E. Stiffler who married Glenn Joseph was ~ I'm at work right now & all my "stuff" is at home! ~gina~ --- Jean Mayfield Cuevas <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi Gina, > > I wish I had something to share with you regarding > your family, but I > don't. 3. Gina, Thanks for clearing that up for me. My understanding is that there were more than one Jennings family in Greene County. But we have a Jennings in our tree. Ardelia Manley md William Jennings in 1854 and their daughter, Rebecca Elizabeth md Wilson Peter Glidewell in 1876 and THEIR son, William Davis Glidewell md LaVada Stiffler (d/o Albert & Leah Melissa Nokes) in 1910. These particular Jennings had a home place on what is now the Wilson Creek Battleground National Park on the Christian/Greene County Line (in Greene). I have yet to spend enough time in their library which has been recently expanded, but I understand they have some info on the Jennings family. Addie for Greene County is Greene County Courthouse, 940 Boonville, Springfield MO 65802, Keep me posted, Brenda Gina Thomas Patterson <[email protected]> wrote: Hey Cuz!! The Mary Stiffler who is buried in the Casey Cemetery is the 2nd wife of George Washington Stiffler, Mary Napier. He was first married to my gg-grandmother, Georgia Ann Tye, after she died he married Mary Napier (can't recall what her maiden name was), and George is buried there at the Casey Cemetery with both wives. I've yet to find anything on Mary & John "Lennings", but just heard from someone who found a Land Record in Greene Co. MO 1871 for "JOHN N.
