This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ZMB.2ACI/1687 Message Board Post: I have a photograph of a young Ozark Missouri High School graduate of 1935. The name on the picture is Jewel. From the lists of 1935 graduates, I have determined that it is Jewel Lucille ESTES. I would like to reach the descendents of Jewel so I can give the picture to them. I also have two other pictures of young women from that graduating class without names recorded on them. I would like to her from anyone who might have had ancestors in the graduating class of Ozark Hight School in 1935 to determine the identity for the purpose of returning them to descendents.
Glennis The names in brackets are names I'm not certain of. I have Matt listed as a child but failed to put any source information for him, so I have no idea where this came from. Lida is listed in correspondence as such; "It was either Lida or Sarah who was called Sis and married a Dr Blair." From photos that belonged to a great uncle of mine, there is one with the following written on the back; "Dr Blair & Sue"; "(Grandma Thorpe's sister)" Grandma Thorpe was Mattie Ann Mitchell who married Wm. Lincoln Thorpe. I have Lida's name in brackets because I haven't found "Lida" mentioned anyplace except the letter referenced above. Mariam is also a daughter; her headstone is in the Waterloo, Kingman co, KS Cemetery; engraved as such; "Mitchell, Mariam A.; dau of N.B. & E." "Born 30 July 1872" "Died 28 Dec 1892" Mariam is buried next to her mother; Elizabeth Jane (Caves) Mitchell. I also have Mariam as a child based on another family photo; she is identified as; "Mariam Mitchell" "(Grandma Thorpe's sister)" Glennis, you refer to the physical description of James and Thomas, I'm not familiar with what your talking about, could you direct me to this please? And, Thank you, you may freely direct anyone my way who is interested in my line or any other information I might have. I would also appreciate being able to be in touch with the person from Eliza's line, or if you prefer, ask this person to contact me privately. Judith, When I first wrote you I thought I had communitcated with someone from your line but it was Eliza's line. They even had a photo of her. Life in early Mo. was very hard and the women all look very plain and sometimes hard. Did you notice the difference in the physical description of James and Thomas? One dark and one light? I thought that was unusual. I am not sure what the names in the brackets are [Mat Mitchell and Lida Mitchell] There are seven children? right? Sarah, Eliza, John, Sue, Richard, Mattie, Nann? Want to double check before I add them to the data base. Thanks for sharing this with me. If I have anyone else contact me from your line, I will put them in touch with you. Glennis
Glennis, From the John Cave(s), Jr line, following are the children of Napoleon and Elizabeth (Caves) Mitchell. If anyone connects with any of these families, sees any corrections or can make any additions, I would greatly appreciate a contact. Please take this information as a guideline, not as gospel --- if anyone is interested in source information, please contact me, I'll gladly share. Judith M. ------------ Sarah J. I have been asked by three of you about the Cave family of Christian/Greene Co. an this is what I have researched along with many other descendants. Elsie Doke and I worked many years on the CAVE WOODY VAUGHN families. All of the census records are not listed but these are proofed up as well as available records can provide many times from tracing allied lines and the process of elimination. If you have any questions, you may e-mail me directly. I have tried to put my research in the county books and this line is included in the Christian Co. Book available in the library. Hello List, There is a new photo in the Mystery Photo section of the Stone County web site. The people in the picture may be members of the Frazier family. I know there are some Frazier researchers in Christian County so please have a look. The charming picture was submitted by Pat Reed, a descendant of the Frazier-Coffer families. > The direct URL is: > > http://www.rootsweb.com/~mostone/mystpics/reed/reed.html > > Happy Labor Day ! > Jo Dunne Stone Co. Hello- I am interested in this documentation. My grandfather was george Thomas Caves his dad Issaih Grant Caves his dad Thomas Caves, I am descended. Melodee Slaney me;[email protected]
Let me get out my files and double check my information. Will get back to you shortly. Glennis
I have the marriage records, Census Records, Tax records for these Caves.
Thanks Glennis I have information for the descendants of John Cave, Jr; but can't positively tie him in with the John, Sr family or John, Sr with his supposed siblings and parents. May I ask what solid evidence you have that verifies him as John, Sr's son? I realize death certificates are only as accurate as the knowledge of the person giving the information; however, on the death certificate for John, Jr's daughter, Elizabeth (Caves) Mitchell, states that her father, John Caves was born in Wales. Perhaps this is where they originally came from; census records show him to have been born in VA and I've seen the transcribed marriage information from Surry co, NC. It seems John, Sr and John, Jr went in a different direction than the other siblings in their families, which is another reason I wonder if I'm missing a John Cave someplace or if they each truly belong in this Cave family? Thanks for your help.
