    2. I think Kerry made a mental typo in that e-mail. <Finally, Levi Carl Faught is an elder brother of Zacharia Faught who was Cletus Faught's dad.> Thomas Nolan Faught instead is the older brother of Zachariah Faught (1870-1921). Levi Carl Faught (1836-1906), a Christian Co. administrative court judge, is the father of Thomas N. and Zachariah. Randy McConnell

    2. KERRY MCGRATH
    3. Thomas Nolan Faught, son of Levi Carl Faught and Mary Jane Keltner, married Amanda Patterson, daughter of Benjamin Patterson and Rachael McCroskey. Thomas and Amanda Faught had at least one daughter Lenora Faught b. ca. 1887 who married Paul Davis of Greene County. They lived in Springfield, Paul was a fireman and divorced in 1929. I think Thomas and Amanda were living in Porter Township in the 1880's, not sure though. If so they may have had another daughter, Nellie. Interested in finding out the names of their children? Amanda Patterson Faught died in 1891, buried in the Payne Cemetery (thank you Brenda). Thomas seems to have disappeared. Anyone know where he went? Anyone know with whom Lenora lived? Apparently, an Aunt of Cletus Faught--who has generously contributed to this list and the Christian County website, married one of Paul Davis's brother's. Is that Aunt Elizabeth Faught who married John C. Davis? If not who is the Aunt and what is Paul Davis's brother's name and who are Paul Davis's parents. Finally, Levi Carl Faught is an elder brother of Zacharia Faught who was Cletus Faught's dad. Thanks for you time and information. Kerry McGrath P.S. have tried several times to share fairly large chunks of information to this list. Obviously, am not following the right protocols. What would be the best procedure?

    3. Jim, Thanks for that link! Very interesting and I'm sorry I missed the presentation. A couple of summers ago they asked permission to dig on our land, but apparently it was low priority since they never actually did so (we're uphill on the western side of the James from the bottom land of Delaware Landing). Do you know where more specifically than "three miles west of Nixa" the relics were found? Patti

I have had a hard drive crash at work and spent many hours fixing the problem. Therefore, I received a chunk of comp time this last week. I spent it reading the Sparta cemetery. It was a beautiful day on Friday, so I spent about 9 hours reading the cemetery and checking it against my 112 pages of preassembled names and dates. I made corrections and added the newcomers. By the end of the day, I was about 2/3's done. I decided to take it easy on myself and go back on Saturday to finish. I made the 45 minute drive home feeling quite satisfied with life -- UNTIL I got in my driveway. I reached for my book and remembered the last place I saw it was on the trunk of my car in the cemetery. I made the 45 minute drive in 5:00 traffic back to Sparta. About a mile from the cemetery I started seeing fluttering pieces of paper strewn along a fence row. My brain did not want to compr! ehend what I was seeing, believe you me. I pulled into the driveway in the middle of the fence row just behind the lady who lived there. She had just arrived home from work to find that she had been "papered". She helped me pick up the pages --even driving out into her field to retrieve a couple. I got to dodge 5:00 Friday evening Highway 14 traffic -- crossing the road to get what had strayed.
